Sunday Book Gossip is inspired by The Story Siren, however it is not a meme. It is simply to reflect on the past week on my blog and to share the books I’ve received from either publishers for review or purchased myself or won! Please feel free to stop by and share your Book Gossip with me in the comment box below, or leave your blog link and I’ll visit you as well!
ARC Received from Publisher:
Sometimes being the grim reaper really is that. Grim. And since Charley’s last case went so awry, she has taken a couple months off to wallow in the wonders of self-pity. But when a woman shows up on her doorstep convinced someone is trying to kill her, Charley has to force herself to rise above. Or at least get dressed. She quickly realizes something is amiss when everyone the woman knows swears she’s insane. The more they refute the woman’s story, the more Charley believes it.
In the meantime, the sexy, sultry son of Satan, Reyes Farrow, has been cleared of all charges. He is out of prison and out of Charley’s life, as per her wishes and several perfectly timed death threats. But his absence has put a serious crimp in her sex life. While there are other things to consider, like the fact that the city of Albuquerque has been taken hostage by an arsonist, Charley is having a difficult time staying away. Especially when it looks like Reyes may be involved. Just when life was returning to normal, Charley is thrust back into the world of crime, punishment, and the devil in blue jeans.

ARC Received from Author:
The day I turned 16, my boyfriend-to-be died. I brought him back to life. Then things got a little weird…
Molly Bartolucci wants to blend in, date hottie Rick and keep her zombie-raising abilities on the down-low. Then the god Anubis chooses her to become a reaper-and she accidentally undoes the work of another reaper, Rath. Within days, she’s shipped off to the Nekyia Academy, an elite school that trains the best necromancers in the world. And her personal reaping tutor? Rath. Who seems to hate her guts.
Rath will be watching closely to be sure she completes her first assignment-reaping Rick, the boy who should have died. The boy she still wants to be with. To make matters worse, students at the academy start turning up catatonic, and accusations fly-against Molly. The only way out of this mess? To go through hell. Literally.

ARC Received from Netgalley:

Darynda Jones, author of The New York Times bestselling series that began with First Grave on the Right, brings us Death and the Girl Next Door, a thrilling Young Adult novel garnering high praise and early buzz from major authors
Ten years ago, Lorelei’s parents disappeared without a trace. Raised by her grandparents and leaning on the support of her best friends, Lorelei is finally beginning to accept the fact that her parents are never coming home. For Lorelei, life goes on.
High school is not quite as painful as she thinks it will be, and things are as normal as they can be. Until the day the school’s designated loner, Cameron Lusk, begins to stalk her, turning up where she least expects it, standing outside her house in the dark, night after night. Things get even more complicated when a new guy—terrifying, tough, sexy Jared Kovach—comes to school. Cameron and Jared instantly despise each other and Lorelei seems to be the reason for their animosity. What does Jared know about her parents? Why does Cameron tell Jared he can’t have Lorelei? And what will any of them do when Death comes knocking for real? Thrilling, sassy, sexy, and inventive, Darynda Jones’s first foray into the world of teens will leave readers eager for the next installment.

Oh God, I have no idea. Angsty Romance, huh? Ummmm, Fifty Shades of Grey? I don’t know, that’s too hard of a question.

Haven’t read any lately just mysteries!
I’ll say Easy by Tammara Webber
The last book I read was 50 Shades and we know how that went. I usually read PNR but had to dip in the normal pool to check out 50. The book definetely had avoidance issues. sdylion(at)gmail(dot)com
I have read a lot, but Tammara Webber is one that I really loved that I finished recently….
Avoiding Commitment is probably the most angsty novel I have ever read.
Beautiful Disaster was so good, so much angst. Thanks for the giveaway

Oh, this book sounds great and the reviews I have read make me jealous others have read it already. As for my most angsty recent read… I just started Beautiful Disaster
I haven’t read anything angsty lately… I’ve been alternating between books with mind-blowing sex scenes and heroines that can end you with a breath. Lethal combo I know, I might mix it up in real life LOL.
Happy Sunday, Barbie cuz!
I try to avoid angsty reads, it´s to hard to try and sleep after reading heartbreaking stuff, but the latest book that pulled my heartstrings would be Cold as Ice by Anne Stuart.
best wishes, Linda xo
Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire
Uhm, Pirate Next Door by Jennifer Ashley (pretty good). Thanks for the giveaway!
Thoughtless & Effortless
I haven’t read one lately. This sounds like it’ll be a good one though.
Happy reading!

Beautiful Disaster and Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy. Four of my most favorite books! I hadn’t heard of Avoiding Commitment but I’m really interested in it and I would love to read it if I get the chance. Thanks for the great giveaway!
It’ not my favorite but the latest angsty romance I’ve read was Strangers by Barbara Elsborg.
I can’t think of any at the top of my head that I have read lately! That’s bad!
I would have to say either Beautiful Disaster or Effortless.
I haven’t read one in a while but I did love love Dear John by Nicholas Sparks (I think that’s one…hmm). Thanks for the giveaway!
